Discovering Svadharma on the Camino

HELD RETREAT

10th to 19th May 2025

Embark on a 10-day transformative journey of self-discovery and rejuvenation set amidst Porto’s dynamic energy and the peaceful landscapes of the Camino de Santiago, this unique retreat blends the ancient pilgrimage trail with the healing practices of yoga and creative self-expression.

about the retreat

The Sanskrit word, Svadarma, invites each of us to remember our most resonant desires and lean-in to practices that open us to our fullest expression. The Camino, or the Way, has attracted spiritual seekers since before the 8th century, each pulled to the path by their own unique thread. This retreat is a profound opportunity to uncover what truly enlivens you, breathe inspiration into your practices and connect with a diverse group of people on a shared path of self-discovery.

Begin your journey in the comfort and embrace of Held, our Porto retreat center. Here we’ll spend two days preparing our minds and bodies and cultivating our connection to Self with resting and grounding practices. Invigorated, we’ll embark on a 6 day journey walking along sections of the Camino de Santiago, where rich history and profound spiritual energy act as a powerful container for your personal journey of self-exploration.

After reaching the city of Santiago de Compostela and the tomb of St.James, nexus of the various Camino routes, we return to Held for two days of integration and reflection, allowing the transformative experiences you've had during the retreat percolate into the life you'll return to. It’s an invaluable opportunity to anchor your newfound insights and begin to make space for your Svadharma to shine through the demands of your everyday life.

The path varies in difficulty and elevation change, however it is generally flat and the terrain is often paved and typically easy to traverse. At the end of each day, our group will lodge together in charming villages along the trail. Our accommodations will range from clean and comfortable hostels where we will sleep in shared quarters, to simple hotels where you may have your own room. In addition to our daily walk, we will at times utilize various modes of transportation, including the metro, trains and buses. Transportation while on the Camino and all 9 nights accommodations are included in the retreat cost.
